La Visage offers services at Crossfit RVA's new Downtown Richmond location
Starting in June, La Visage will be opening a downtown Richmond location at CrossFit RVA on 900 West Leigh Street. Now CrossFit RVA's members have the option to get a massage before and after their workouts.
CrossFit RVA uses old-school methods of exercise, such as pushups, pull-ups and kettle bells. Members work out in groups with an instructor on-hand. The gym has close to 200 members, which is more than double from a little over a year ago.
With the addition of La Visage, CrossFit RVA members now have the option of getting a massage to improve muscle health deep in the body's tissues. When body tissues are affected negatively by the presence of toxins, from internal sources such as lactic acid from overuse, several painful and debilitating conditions can develop in response to the presence of the toxins.
A Deep Tissue massage, which is offered at La Visage, feels good and it is beneficial to your health. When muscles are stressed, they block oxygen and nutrients, leading to inflammation that builds up toxins in the muscle tissue. A deep-tissue massage helps loosen muscle tissues, release toxins from muscles and get blood and oxygen circulating properly. Because many toxins are released, it's important to drink plenty of water after a deep-tissue session to help eliminate these toxins from the body.
La Visage also offers Sports massage, in which the therapist uses deep massage strokes to prepare an individual for intense exercise or to reduce soreness caused by the build-up of lactic acid after exercise. Sports massage can ease physical injuries by stretching and toning damaged muscles, resulting in decreased recovery time. It can also soften scar tissue caused by previous injuries and assists the removal of waste products from the body. Since Sports massage also increases muscle flexibility, it can also be used to prevent injury.
